Ultrasound

ultrasound

Ultrasound is a treatment than involves the use of ultrasonic waves to assist in fragmentation of necrotic tissue and to enhance the permeability of cell membranes.  Also has been shown to increase fibroblast activity, perfusion, debridement capability and calcium uptake in fibroblasts.  It promotes wound healing through the destruction of microorganisms and biofilms. This painless treatment lasts about 10-12 minutes and should be done 3 times per week.
